Dear John,
Thought you might like to know that I'm still alive & cookin'. I have been in the Bay Area for twenty-five years now, but miss the warm, sunny beaches of San Diego. I'm amazed at the number of "missing" Colts from 1970.
I will be cooking with Chez Ray, former chef for the Grateful Dead (since 1977) for the 40th Anniversary Summer of Love Festival at Golden Gate Park on September 2, 2007. We plan to serve 4,500 meals to musicians, family members, and crew. Additionally, I will be starting a culinary program with St. Vincent de Paul to help assist homeless and otherwise displaced people to obtain work in the culinary industry. I will also be providing a free, hot meal to those in need every day at the Center in Oakland. It's good to give back!
