San Diego State College in the
1950s. My first year at State, in 1962, it looked like
this. If you drove north on College Avenue you took a leisurely
drive right past the Administration Building and on around the north
side of the campus if you chose. Quetzal Hall, with its unique
architecture, can be seen at the southeastern corner of the parking lot,
where College Avenue comes up out of Mission Valley and turns south.
From the Evening Tribune, December 4, 1937
Quetzal Hall in 1942. Looks like maybe
they had stores on the ground floor.
I think these two shots date to 1992
And this one to 1993 -- or maybe it was the
other way around. At any rate, there are
students lined up to take advantage
of the textbook buyback at
KB Books in this photo.
