On The Waterfront • 1953 I don't know who this fellow is, but if he's posing for a family snapshot, it's an awfully good one. The County Administration Building, in the background, was City Hall when this photo was taken. Tuna boats can be seen at the very left, parked along the wharf. I seem to remember the fishermen spreading their nets in this area, I guess to dry them out. Gee, I guess they could walk home to Little Italy in those days. Last but not least, check out the cool cars. At the very right is the rear end of a "Woodie", a mint green Studebaker, and a maroon sedan with big 'ole white sidewalls. I'm just guessing, by the way, at the 1953 date. |
