I thought the two
photos on this page might have been taken at the same time, but they
must have been taken just a few years apart. There's a street car
in the photo below, but the last streetcar drove into the Adams Avenue
streetcar barn in 1949. I see a sprinkling of '50s automobiles in
the photo above. In both photos are buses in unfamiliar
livery. Maybe that's what color scheme San Diego Transit was using
in those days. The black building above, on the northwest corner of 3rd
and Broadway, was a beauty college. Do they even HAVE those
anymore?
