A rare
south-facing aerial. Most photographers dread shooting into the
sun. This one appears to have been taken late in the day, possibly
during the winter. Washington Elementary School can be seen to
the left of center (and below, left). At the top you can see the natural gas storage tanks that I remember from my youth. Below is a snippet of a Howard Rozelle photo that also shows the tanks. Finally, in the foreground you can see Solar Aircraft, where Ryan Aircraft built the Spirit of Saint Louis in 1927. In the photo at the bottom, Howard placed an "A" next to the building where the construction took place.
