The above photo was probably taken around 1952.  Oscar's lasted until perhaps 1967.  Subsequent restaurants at the southwest corner of Garnet Avenue and Mission Boulevard included O'Greenery, Old Ox, Gringo's Cafe y Cantina and Fat Fish.  A new dining establish is taking shape at the time of this posting.  (August 19, 2023)

This photo above looks to date to around 1960.  It's a great color shot of the old Food Basket as well as Crystal Pier Motel.  One wishes the photographer had turned left for one more shot, but at least you can see what color the Oscar's sign was.
