HOWARD took this aerial on
December 31, 1961. That's not snow in the
foreground, it's a golf course shot with
infra-red film. I don't think you'll have
trouble with this one, but I don't want to
spoil it for those who enjoy a challenge.
This one looks roughly NE
with La Jolla country club in the center
and the southern-most end of La Jolla
Shores on the left edge. Carole Smithson
'61 and I might have been in the picture
then. She was back from her first quarter
at the University of Chicago and we
typically went to Anthony's for lunch.
Abalone sandwiches were our favorites. In
August 1964, we bought our wedding bands
at Alan Adler's, a few blocks from
Anthony's. Somewhere in the vicinity was a
modern home built by a famous architect
(can't recall his name) with a Rolls Royce
in the driveway, which we admired. Good
memories -- Bob Richardson '61
