Historians
now call it "Red Lead Row". I can't remember
what it was known as when we lived next
door. For folks who have no clue what I'm
talking about, this is the Mothball Fleet
near 32nd Street Naval Base, as photographed
by Howard Rozelle in August 1950. That being
a few days after the onset of the Korean War
I would think the place was about to explode
with activity.
