The above photos appear to be the staging area on Oregon Street, south of El Cajon. 
The wall is the one surrounding the iconic water tank, and is still there. 

References to Tigers on some of the floats below have to do with the Aztecs' Homecoming opponent, the Occidental Tigers, whom the Aztecs beat 14-7 before a crowd of 9,000 at Aztec Bowl.

    


     


     


    


    

The Streamliner, at 2633 El Cajon Blvd., is the site of today's Chicken Pie Shop


    


             

This appears to be a float sponsored by San Diego City & County.  The XF-92A was Convair's experimental delta-wing fighter that became the F-102 Delta Dagger, then evolved into the F-106 Delta Dart.
