Obituary
Robert Ponce
July 29, 1960 – November 19, 1996
Gone way
too soon, but, oh what a life he had! Robert
enjoyed his years at Crawford so much and made
life long friends, but one friend in
particular. Beth Bond Sczempka changed his
life forever by inviting him to join her for
auditions at Disneyland the summer after
graduation. He told our parents he’d be gone
for three months, but it ended up giving him
opportunities of a lifetime to help create the
“magic” of Disney. He started as a Red Toy
Soldier in the Christmas Parade, then
graduated to traveling the world promoting
Disney. He ended up as a senior show director,
whose pride and joy was developing “The Lion
King Celebration” which helped Disney break
attendance records during its run from 1994 to
1996. We miss our brother so very much! -- Mary
