My family and I lived in this motel when we first got back from South America in 1958. At that time it was called The Palms Motel and we stayed in one of the kitchenettes. My siblings and I went to John Muir Elementary, now Harriet Tubman Village Charter School, which was a block away from the motel on Mohawk Street between 68th and 69th Street, during the time we lived here — Colleen Shannon
