The man in the photo is lifeguard Dan Oden. He was a Lifeguard I (seasonal) in the ‘70s and ‘80s. In the winter he was a ski instructor at Mammoth Mountain. Later he became a high school football coach and teacher in the San Francisco Bay area. Dan was a very good runner and competed in 10K races, I think his time was just over 30 minutes. Dan died of cancer in his early 40s -- Mike Krattli
