The students at Forward matriculated first to Lewis Junior High School because Pershing Junior High was still being built. We had to take a bus from San Carlos/Lake Murray area to Allied Gardens. Then Pershing opened and we spent the 9th grade in that brand new school. Then it was back on the buses as we had to travel all the way to Crawford, while waiting for Patrick Henry High School to be built. Then we got cars!
