I served as the official school
photographer for the ninth-grade class at Horace Mann. Instead of
completing assignments in my journalism class, I was selected
for the role of photographer. While I recognize many of the students
featured in the newspaper, I don't recall taking these specific
pictures. Although numerous photos in the graduating yearbook were mine,
I never received any recognition for them. It was a labor-intensive
task, spending countless hours in the darkroom mastering the art of
developing and printing. Reflecting back, I wish smartphones like the
iPhone had been available earlier; it would have streamlined the process
significantly. I could have simply had Walgreens print the pictures,
freeing up my afternoons for leisure. Thank you for sharing once again

Trying to remember the name of the girls flag football game that Rose
Bergquist invented. We wore those colored penny’s to signify which team
we were on. We put them on over our heads and they tied on the side. I
remember as a kid, reading an article about it in the San Diego
newspaper. It was kinda her claim to fame. Today’s article in the Horace
Mann newspaper about her and her twin sister reminded me about this
game we used to play. Can’t remember any of the rules, but it was fun --
