The Byrds • March 23, 1968 Norman Lombardo ’69 was a leading member and songwriter for Brainpower (above, left). I don't know if Norm actually graduated from Crawford, but he went to Oak Park Elementary, Horace Mann Junior High and Crawford High in the same grades with my sister. His family lived across and down the alley from our family and so we got to see the band up close as they practiced in the driveway off the alley. They were a great local band that never got a label contract. Norm eventually moved to San Francisco where the hippie music scene was happening in the late ‘60s -- Sam Judd '70
