Dave Nichols '61 periodically tells me to let him know if I'm going to be in Portland so we can get together and the opportunity finally arose. I was in Olympia for a Geography conference and on the way home we'd arranged to meet at Rogue Ales in Portland's Pearl District for lunch. George Sorensen '69 joined us, he having moved to Portland about five years ago. The three of us are San Diego State faculty brats too, and George and I are Campus Lab School grads to boot. Dave is a regular at the Rogue, attending their every-other-Tuesday Tiki night. Free beer if you wear a Hawaiian shirt -- you'd fit right in. Our waitress, who knows Dave well, took the photo of the three of us -- George, Dave, and me. Dave and George get together pretty regularly now that they're both in Portland -- Bob Richardson '61 |
