Norma and John White pose with their children at 4th and Broadway. From left are Richard, Eileen, Paul, Robert, and Roger. The Fiesta del Pacifico was held in San Diego during the 1950s to highlight San Diego's Hispanic Heritage.

I remember my dad  growing a mustache for the Fiesta. I remember going down to Balboa Stadium for the festivities. It was where they held the “midget” car races. My grandpa used to rent seat cushions for the races, then my uncle and I would get paid in candy from the snack bar for picking the seat cushions up after the races.  Mom and I had matching “Mexican” dresses covered in ric-rac. I often think about that year and wondered why it never gets mentioned -- Sue Coleman Peterson ‘69
