Charlie Johnson '64 sent in the above photo of the Bitterroot Mountains in Montana, taken from his deck. "The temperature was 10 degrees below zero," says Charlie, adding "that's chilly even for western Montana." Charlie took his 18 year old granddaughter on a 100-mile, 11-day boat trip on the Kwethluk River in western Alaska last summer. "It was an awesome adventure. We didn't see another human the whole time. Our only neighbors were grizzly bears, moose and wolves," he says. That's Charlie and a Chum Salmon. Sounds like his granddaughter is a trooper. |
