Needles Desert Star, October 1, 2009 -- Shown receiving donations made in memory of Kari and Keira Lyn Parker are (l to r) Dorothy Machula, Palo Verde Community College, for Derek Tye; Gaby Belt, on behalf of the American Youth Soccer Organization; Lyn Parker representing the Needles Youth Development and Education Foundation and the Kari and Keira Lyn Memorial Foundation; Linda Andrews, Jackie Bensley and Dottie Frazier, kindergarten teachers at Katie Hohstadt School. A total of $1,750 was distributed among these various projects from money raised in last year's 2K4KIDS event.
