Snow in the Mountains

The developer's stamp on the back of this photo is dated March 1979. On the left is an earlier incarnation of Denny's Restaurant, sans patio. Further up the block is Art Leitch Real Estate, which became The Improv comedy store and is now Moondoggie's. Next door is Aljones Mexican Restaurant, which became Diego's and is now P. B. Bar & Grille. At the right, finished in turquoise tiles is Miller's West, which was built originally by Muehling's Department Stores when they moved from their location at the southwest corner of Fanuel and Garnet. Barely distinguishable in the distance are snow-covered Laguna Mountains -- the reason I took the picture. Interesting that it was the same month I quit teaching and started the Pacific Beach Historical Society.
